Two South Yorkshire NHS organisations have recently been recognised in the prestigious national HSJ Digital Awards 2023. 

Sheffield Teaching hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been shortlisted in the ‘Digital Innovator of the Year’ and ‘Optimising Clinical Pathways through Digital’ categories for their development in using artificial intelligence to accurately assess the heart on MRI scans. 

Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust has also been recognised in two categories, firstly in the ‘Replicating Digital Best Practice’ category for their information resource library project and secondly in the ‘Enhancing Workforce Engagement, Productively and Wellbeing through Digital’ category for their join working with Tutum Medical Ltd, implementing bedside equipment alarm monitoring systems (BEAMS).  

Dr Kieran Baker, Chief Digital and Information Officer, at NHS South Yorkshire, said: “It is great to see the excellent work of our partners being recognised at such a prestigious award. Most importantly, these fantastic innovations ultimately improve the health and care we provide to our patients.

The HSJ Digital awards celebrate the power of digital products, projects and services to transform care delivery and improve patient outcomes. The awards are open to any organisation working across the health and care sector and aim to recognise the hard work completed across the UK.
