NHS South Yorkshire ICB is committed to promoting equality of opportunity for our workforce and tackling any workplace exclusion is important to ensure we demonstrate our values.

The gender pay gap differs from equal pay. Equal pay deals with the pay differences between men and women who carry out the same jobs, similar jobs or work of equal value. It is unlawful to pay people unequally because they are a man or a woman. NHS South Yorkshire ICB as an employer is not aware of any cases of unequal pay in the organisation at this time.

The Gender Pay Gap shows the difference in the average pay between women and men at NHS South Yorkshire ICB. The information has been calculated using all employed staff. For staff employed on an Agenda for change pay band, each pay band has a set of pay points for annual progression. Therefore, the longer someone has been in a post, the higher their salary, regardless of gender (subject to performance).

It is important to note that our workforce is predominantly female, with 656 female employees and 177 male employees. Of the 312 part-time staff, 86% are female (268 staff) and 14% are male (44 staff).
