There’s lots of ways for you to get involved
Here in Doncaster we are thoroughly committed to involving local patients and residents in the work we do as commissioners. You can help us to improve services and make sure they are suitable for everyone. We need your feedback and value your input.
There’s a range of ways you can get actively involved in our work, from chatting to us on our Twitter and Facebook pages, sending us a message through our website on our contact page, or getting involved in one our many campaigns.
Patient Participation Groups
Our 40 GP Practices in Doncaster each have a Patient Participation Group (PPG). You can read some guidance here on what PPGs do. If you are interested in finding out more about joining your PPG, please ask at your GP Practice. Patients are encouraged to get involved and you will be helping to make services suitable for everyone.
Our PPG Network
Each of the 40 PPGs is entitled to send representatives to our PPG Network Meeting. The PPG Network supports our PPGs by bringing people together to share ideas and suggestions for improvement, it is also a useful network to meet others and get involved.
On a regular basis, we also lead surveys and events to gauge patient and public views on the work we do. We want to be able to demonstrate clearly how we are working effectively with patients and members of the public to develop and evaluate our services. If you would like to receive details in an alternative format, please contact us.
Feeding back your views
We like to get out and about in our community and visit you, to find out what you think. Look out for us and the ‘Health Bus’, come on board and find out more.
Your views and experiences matter very much to us and they impact on everything we do. If you have any comments to make to us you can contact us as follows:

We work closely with Healthwatch Doncaster to ensure the views and needs of patients are met. Healthwatch supports us by facilitating the Health Ambassadors and the PPG Network. You can download a copy of the Healthwatch Annual Report here

September 2022: Tell us about your experience of our dementia services
Healthwatch is working with the NHS and Doncaster Council on a project to listen to people about their own and their loved ones experiences of using dementia services.
Healthwatch will produce a report that will represent the public voice around what is working well and what, if anything, could be improved in future. If you have dementia or someone you know has or had dementia, Healthwatch would like to hear your views.
Here are a number of ways in which you can do this:
- We have a survey that you can find below (If you would prefer a paper copy contact us and we can arrange to send you one).
- We can talk to you over the phone, on a video call or in person
- We'll be talking with people in support groups and services between early July and mid August 2022. If you attend a group or get support from somewhere and would like us to come along, let us know.
Please contact Healthwatch if you need any help:
