The way you order your stoma products is changing so that you can be provided with expert stoma advice and support. How to order your prescription and getting your prescription dispensed.
NHS Sheffield CCG have created a dedicated service which allows ostomates access to a 24-hour ordering service. A trained team will process your prescriptions, give advice and can refer you to local stoma nurses for clinical support with any challenges you may have relating to your stoma.
Ordering your products directly through a Dispensing Appliance Contractor, local pharmacy or other channels will no longer be possible. Your choice of where you want to get your products from will remain the same.
You will continue to order the products that work best for you, the team will support you to ensure you have enough supplies in case of emergency or product failure. Some stoma products come with the provision of free bags and dry wipes. If you are already in receipt of these products this will continue or new requests can be added to your prescription order, dependent upon your chosen supplier.
The new service will not delay you getting your products, in fact you may find that you get them in a more timely manner.
Your GP practice will contact you about registering with the service and will arrange for one of the stoma service team to contact you to register you. After this you will be able to make your orders through the following ways.
- By telephoning 0114 305 1300 - Open 8:30 am - 3:00 pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).
