Working Together in Research Project – this project aims to promote inclusive approaches to health and care research through working with the VCSE sector.
The aim of the Working Together in Research project is to develop a South Yorkshire research approach to address systemic barriers to representative inclusion in health and care research. The project is led by a steering group bringing together NHS South Yorkshire ICB, NIHR, the Innovation Hub and the VCSE.
The VCSE leads on this project are Diversecity who have co-ordinated activity and facilitated workshops, and South Yorkshire Community Foundation who have project managed and administrated grants to VCSE organisations.
The project has:
- Invested in 10 diverse VCSE organisations to share their insights on inclusive practice
- Facilitated a range of workshops to understand the barriers to inclusive practice and to build networks and share knowledge
- Designed a set of guiding principles to support research organisations in their inclusive practice
- Developed a maturity matrix to build on the principles and support research organisations to bring the principles to life
