From 2nd March 2026, Sheffield Stoma Product Ordering Line will close. Going forward, you will need to order your stoma products through your GP practice. Your prescription will then be sent to your chosen dispensing appliance contractor (DAC) and your products will be delivered to you as normal. Your choice of where you get your products from will remain the same.

This change is being made to ensure services are delivered in the most appropriate way and in line with national guidance. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make this transition easier. You can contact our team in your usual way.

What you need to do:
- From 2nd March 2026 order your products via your GP practice through their normal ordering process.
- If you have any questions or concerns contact the Stoma Product Order Line (Telephone: 0114 3051300)

Thank you for your understanding as we make this change.

Patient Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Why is this happening?
A:
The Stoma Product Ordering Line is currently provided by the South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (SY ICB) which is an NHS organisation that plans and commissions healthcare for the whole of our region. NHS England have introduced some new guidelines that will change how ICB's work and from April 1st, instead of being able to provide services, ICBs will now only be able to commission them from other providers.

Q2: Will I still get my products?
A: Yes. You will continue to receive your stoma products through your DAC, with prescriptions ordered via your GP.

Q3: Who do I contact for help?
A: For prescription queries, contact your GP. For clinical advice, your stoma nurse remains available through your usual route or with the help of your GP practice.

Q4: When does this change happen?
A: The ordering lines will close on 2nd March 2026.
