NHS South Yorkshire is supporting national Carers Week - an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face, and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK

Carers Week also helps people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.

This year the theme for Carers Week is 'Putting carers on the map' which aims to  raise awareness about the challenges carers face which impact on their finances, employment, health and wellbeing.

There are a number of activities happening across South Yorkshire during the week – search ‘Carers Week’ and your area to find those local to you.

In Sheffield NHS South Yorkshire’s Primary Care Development Nurses and the Sheffield Carers Centre will be at the Moor Market on Tuesday 11 June, 10 am to 2pm offering free mini health checks and raising awareness of the role of Carers. Please come along to stalls 56 and 58 - we look forward to seeing you there!

Carers Week is led by Carers UK with the support of a number of other charities.
