Keeping safe

Cases of COVID-19 are still circulating at a high level and a lot of people are being re-infected. There are people that are ill enough with the virus to be hospitalised.

Therefore, it is important that people continue to follow good infection prevention measures:

  • Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze. Then bin the tissue, and wash your hands, or use a sanitiser gel.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after using public transport. Use a sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.

Wearing a face mask or covering, doing so can reduce the risk of spreading the virus. The best protection against the virus is still the COVID-19 vaccine.
There are still people in the high-risk categories that haven’t had their vaccines yet. It’s not too late to be vaccinated.
