NHS South Yorkshire have appointed Alicia Sansome as the new Children and Young People’s Alliance Clinical Director.
The Children and Young People’s Alliance covers South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw and aims to improve the health of children and young people from birth to 25 years old as well as making sure all children and young people have equal access to health care.
Alicia is currently the Head of Public Health for Children and Young People in Barnsley so she has significant experience in providing strategic professional leadership to shape and deliver public sector services within Local Authority, NHS and the voluntary and community sector.
Alicia’s professional background is as a Registered Nurse and Specialist Community Public Health Nurse and she has a Public Health Master’s Degree and a diploma in Leaders for European Public Health.
Alicia Sansome, new Children and Young People’s Alliance Clinical Director said:
“I feel excited and privileged to be stepping into the role of Clinical Director for the South Yorkshire Children and Young People’s Alliance Programme. Having worked with the Alliance over the past few years I have witnessed the commitment and passion form everyone working in this area to improve the lives if children and young people.
“I look forward to building relationships and providing clinical leadership across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw at a time when there are so many exciting initiatives aimed at improving the health, wellbeing and lives of children and young people.”

Alicia takes up the role in August and will do this alongside her role as the Head of Public Health (Children and Young People) in Barnsley.
