The shortlist has been announced for the 2023 HSJ Patient Safety Awards and South Yorkshire healthcare providers are flying the flag for the region, having been shortlisted across six categories, including children and young people’s care, maternity and midwifery and mental health safety.
Dr David Crichton, Chief Medical Officer at NHS South Yorkshire said: “We are rightly proud of our South Yorkshire colleagues who have been recognised in this year’s HSJ Patient Safety Award shortlist. There is some innovative work taking place across South Yorkshire and it’s great to have teams from our region on this prestigious shortlist.

There are 24 award categories in 2023 covering clinical and specialist excellence, enacting organisation-wide change and service or system innovation. Here are the nominees from South Yorkshire:
